A little bit about me.
My love of music began at a young age when I started learning bass guitar, which is still my favourite instrument. Over the past 30 years I’ve gained extensive experience in live performance, recording, and composition.
I’ve been tutoring for more than 20 years in various settings. After deciding to move away from senior management, I followed my passion and formally opened Stuart Pinch Tuition in 2010, offering lessons in Guitar, Drums, and Bass Guitar.
Since then, the business has continued to grow. I’ve helped students join bands, play for their grandchildren, achieve qualifications, and even progress to further education in music. Whatever your reason for learning — for fun, to join a band, to jam with friends, or to work towards grades — I tailor every lesson to your personal goals.
Instruments
Guitar
Lessons are available for Electric or Acoustic guitar. All amplification is provided.
Drums
Acoustic and electronic kits.
Bass Guitar
4, 5 or 6 string, fretted or fretless.
Price of Tuition
Each 30 minute lesson costs £15.
Hourly lessons are available where my schedule allows and cost £30.
Payments can be made by cash, card including contactless, Apple Pay or bank transfer.
For video lessons, payments can be made through bank transfer or a secure link can be provided to make a remote card payment.
Location
I teach at my studio in Ebbw Vale, offering a comfortable and relaxed environment, with all of the equipment you need. You will only need to bring your own guitar, electric or acoustic, the choice is yours. All amplification and leads are provided.
I have a selection of drum sticks available to use during drum lessons, but students are welcome to bring their own. Sticks are available to purchase at £5 a pair for practicing at home.
Parents, guardians and carers are welcome to accompany students to lessons every week, or just occassionally to see how they are getting on. There is a seating area in the studio where you can make yourself comfortable.
Grades
Grade examinations are available at Stuart Pinch Tuition through either the Trinity or Rockschool syllabus.
Grade exams must be paid for in advance.
